Daniel Mara

Mr. Mara is a 1982 graduate of Hamilton College and a 1985 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is a member of, and a past delegate to, the Connecticut Bar Association and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Hartford County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. He served as Chairman of the Board for Southend Community Services and Computers for Kids and he currently serves on the board of the Hartford County Bar Foundation. He sits on the Town of Bloomfield Planning and Zoning Commission and is a member of the Bloomfield Democratic Town Committee.  

Mr. Mara has an active and varied commercial practice.  He represents lenders and borrowers in financing, commercial and real estate transactions and in the workout and resolution of financing obligations.  He counsels clients involved in real property-based and asset-based financing transactions and land development. He counsels small and medium-sized businesses owners about business operations and finance, the purchase and sale of businesses and business reorganizations, mergers and other strategic combinations.  He represents banks and individuals in the purchase and sale of property. He has helped structure non-profit organizations and counseled the people who run them.   

Mr. Mara is an experienced trial attorney. He has advocated for people, businesses and banks in Connecticut's trial and appellate courts and in the Bankruptcy and Federal District Courts for the District of Connecticut.  His trial practice includes general and commercial litigation; professional malpractice and other tort and personal injury matters; employment and civil rights violation claims; debt resolution, workouts and foreclosure; creditor's rights in bankruptcy, corporate matters, business litigation and construction claims.
